The farm is the most
southerly in Africa, situated 11km from the Atlantic Ocean. It is made up of
two farms, Blomfontein and Uintjieskuil. Strandveld Vineyards forms part of the
Elim Wine Ward.
The farm is known as
Strandveld Vineyards and hosts a premium range called Strandveld, as well as
being the home of First Sighting wines.
Strandveld First Sighting Sauvignon Blanc
Full-bodied wine with spicy white pepper and mocha aromas,
layered with vibrant red berry fruit flavors. Concentrated with savory tannins
with a long spicy finish
Serve chilled as an aperitif or as an accompaniment to salads, fish, shellfish and light white meat dishes.
The wine is ready to be enjoyed while young and fresh but will develop complexity with two to three years in the bottle.

The nose is typified by bright fruit aromas accompanied by subtle
wildflower notes.
On the palate the wine is lively with bright berry notes with
a sustained finish.
