Sutherland Wines

This is the Webb Family Estate in Elgin. As they also own Thelema in Stellenbosch, they use the same wine maker to make the Sutherland range as well as the Thelema range of wines.

Elgin is a cooler gowning climate.

Sutherland Chardonnay

100% Chardonnay. Distinct citrus peel and orange marmalade notes come to the fore with hints of toast as a backstage. The wine is full-bodied with the aromatic notes replicated and a fresh acidic core on the finish.

The wine will pair well with rich seafood dishes, risottos and chicken dishes.

The wine will age well over the next four to five years.

Sutherland Cabernet Sauvignon

100% Cabernet. Brooding dark fruit, anise and fresh mown grass aromas predominate. The wine is full-bodied with a distinct tannic grip and a long finish.

The wine pairs well with game meats, artisan cheeses, rich stews and cheese based dishes.

The wine will age well for ten years or more.
